Meet the Practitioner
Heidi Kothe-Levie, L.Ac.
MSTOM, Dipl. O.M. (NCCAOM)

Heidi Kothe-Levie received her Master's degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, one of the oldest and most respected acupuncture schools in the nation. Heidi is a licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in addition to being nationally certified in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

During her tenure at Pacific College, in addition to her regular Clinic Internship, Heidi interned at both St.Vincent's Hospital HIV/AIDS Center and the Manhattan VA Hospital's Neurology/Pain Management  Unit. As an Associate Intern, Heidi completed a rotation at New York St.Vincent's Hospital Cancer Care Center.

Heidi's
mission as a private practitioner of Chinese Medicine is to guide her patients to optimum health by uniting knowledge from Chinese Medicine with Western Biomedicine.  She combines Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Tui Na (Chinese massage), and Reiki to provide her patients with highly individualized sessions.

Prior to becoming an Acupuncturist and Herbalist, Heidi completed her undergraduate work at Antioch College and was invited to attend its sister college, Kyoto Seika University, in Japan.  Following graduation, Heidi participated in the JET Programme under the Japanese Minsitry of Education and taught English in the public schools in rural Japan for a number of years (Gunma-ken, Ojima-machi). Her tenure abroad introduced her to both acupuncture, which reversed a number of personal health issues, and tea.  Upon returning to the States, Heidi worked for one of Japan's largest tea companies and became their North America Senior Tea Specialist.  However, as much as she loved importing, blending, pairing, writing and lecturing on tea -- she knew that she wanted to participate in bringing Acupuncture to the West and making it accessbile to a population who could grow to love it as much as she does.

Heidi continues to occasionally guest lecture on tea and is a Teaching Assistant at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.
